3-D modeling

Previsualization is the art of producing a 'virtual photograph' of a concept, product or package. Landis Productions uses software packages like Strata Studio 3-D and Adobe Photoshop to create visuals of an object or product in action—without the expense of creating the real thing.

Three-dimensional modeling with Strata Studio is such a strong tool because it provides total control of form, materials, textures, graphics and more. Once created, 3-d models can be output as images or animations. Models can be moved, rotated and placed into virtual settings to help previsualize the final results. You can render a single product or a full store display.

Occasionally, you can use Adobe Photoshop to achieve similar results in less time. If you can pinpoint the one angle required to achieve a virtual photograph result, you can skip the intensive modeling stage of production and use Photoshop, layers and light trickery to create stunning results.

Sample browser for this section of our site is under construction. Designs to be featured on this page in the coming weeks will include:

  • HERSHEY'S KISSES brand chocolates: Alcoa Inc. asked Landis Productions to create some previsuals for a plastic tub of HERSHEY'S KISSES brand chocolates. The creation of a 3-d model utilizing foil wrap chocolate inside clear plastic tubs with shrink sleeve graphics was an interesting challenge. We'll show you our favorite version of the concept art on this page.
  • Tanning Bed Concept Design: Landis Productions was asked to create a series of out-of-the box tanning bed designs for an international manufacturer. The unique opportunity allowed the manufacturer to make long term plans to further separate themselves from the competition as true innovators.
  • Kraft Savory Mayo: Alcoa Inc. asked Landis Productions to design shrink sleeve wraps for Kraft's Savory Mayo product. The challenge was to come up with a product design that would look attractive sitting on the table of your next party. The use of clean and colorful labels achieved this goal.

If you need to see any of these materials today, please contact us and we will e-mail PDF portfolio samples to you as soon as possible.
