What makes one photograph
stronger than another? Well, it's not the size
of the lens or the number of megapixels a particular camera
can capture. A strong photograph is one that lets you know
that a thinking, feeling, fully-engaged human being saw
something interesting and wanted to share that vision with
you. A fleeting moment or the casting of a shadow—captured
with layers of emotion through a thin piece of glass.
When Landis Productions is taking a product shot in its studio light tent or
when out on location capturing architectural forms for a magazine cover, we are
constantly searching for the magic angle or shadow to elevate the every day into
something extraordinary.
But sometimes it is impossible to capture that perfect moment with one shot.
Often the extraordinary has to be created after the image has been captured.
There is a whole world of opportunity when the skills of digital retouch, composite
or painting are implemented to create something completely different.
