What makes one photograph stronger than another? Well, it's not the size of the lens or the number of megapixels a particular camera can capture. A strong photograph is one that lets you know that a thinking, feeling, fully-engaged human being saw something interesting and wanted to share that vision with you. A fleeting moment or the casting of a shadow—captured with layers of emotion through a thin piece of glass.

When Landis Productions is taking a product shot in its studio light tent or when out on location capturing architectural forms for a magazine cover, we are constantly searching for the magic angle or shadow to elevate the every day into something extraordinary.

But sometimes it is impossible to capture that perfect moment with one shot. Often the extraordinary has to be created after the image has been captured. There is a whole world of opportunity when the skills of digital retouch, composite or painting are implemented to create something completely different.

Sample browser for this section of our site is under construction. Designs to be featured on this page in the coming weeks will include:

  • Before and After: We've done lots of photoshop magic over the years and we're working on consolidating a bunch of samples so you can really see all the pieces that went into the final image. We also specialize in turning photographs into digital paintings as we've often done for Catalina Mainsheet magazine.
  • Product Photography: Landis Productions has a light tent in the studio for taking beautiful product photography of small to medium sized objects. Some of our subjects have been memorabilia, toys, jewelry and commercial products like soda bottles and can drinks.
  • Environmental Photography: We also enjoy taking environmental and structural photography for advertising and marketing pieces. Once such piece was a large location photoshoot of landmarks to be digitally inserted into a treasure chest for Richmond's KLEOS magazine cover in 2006.

If you need to see any of these materials today, please contact us and we will e-mail PDF portfolio samples to you as soon as possible.
